Back ups

Why back up ????

Backing up your personal files is an often neglected part of PC maintainence. How many of us now only have a digital camera and store all photos on their computer ?? From personal experience I know for the past 7 years all my photos are digital. In the event of hard drive failure I could potentially lose all photos if I didnt have a back up in place.

Back ups range from photos and personal documents to a full "system image" that can restore a computer with all its files and settings intact to an earlier date. Companys with sensitive data back up daily or can run duel hard drives to write the data twice, so if one hard drive fails or is corrupted, the other one will still be intact.

For most people only a small file backup is necessary with a system image done for example, every 6 months. That way the most you could lose is between the last time you had a back up, and the event of the potential failure, Windows can back up locally (on the hard drive in your computer) but it is best to have a copy of this information on a seperate location. For example, in the event of a natural disaster, bush fire or flood or even a burgulary, and your computer is damaged or stolen, you could have a flash key or small USB drive stored at a relitives home or in a bank safe box. This way irreplaceable images, documents, files are always able to be retreived from the back up.

All of this information, I can back up for you onto Flash keys or USB drive depending on the size of back up required. My services include a flash drive, or external hard drive and the time taken (30mins to 3hours for a full system image) to perform the backup.

As a guide you could fit on 1GB approx.
